It probably would have because the show would have aired on Saturday night, a night when people didn’t stay in, they went out and did stuff and this is well before VCR’s still so I think it might have gotten another few seasons (if it were lucky) and then be gone. Maybe it’d be back now with a Star Trek remake ala 2009 Trek, but who knows for sure what would have happened.

I enjoyed DS9 since that was the series I grew up with because of my father forcing us to watch Star Trek whom was not even born when TOS aired.

I just hope we get to see the new series this year, even if we don’t get the First Lady of Star Trek to ever do the computer voice again live :(

I have thought many times what would have happened if that show was made instead of the motion picture. None the less, the motion picture was a huge box office hit and opened the way for all the other films and IMO the other series like TNG etc. I cant prove this but if the motion picture and its financial sucess (albeit no warmth of TOS) TNG, DS9, Enterprise would have never happened. And the Star Trek universe may have died in the 1970s instead of going into the 21st century.

Its a shame the second tv series didn’t come to be cause the movie it became sucked ass for my money. It was boring and lacked a sense of humor like TOS. The other ST movies were hit and mis, some good some not so much. For me I would rather have had 5 years of 26 new episodes per year frankly. The show was going to resemble the original much more of course including the uniforms. The bonus being that you could predict who was going to bite it down on the planet by the red uniforms they wore.

Heard that too. Funny it wasn’t mentioned in the video.

Also, not how Decker and Ilia each get more lines than Sulu and Checkov combined. It wasn’t even re-worked that well, they just wanted to keep the sexy young actors on board.

  10. RedPortiaOne says:

I dont think that character was gay, just the actor who played him

  11. Unzotagain says:

Is Xon the Gay Vulcan on star trek phase 2?

  12. Unzotagain says:

    Enemy: Starleet is an example.

  13. Unzotagain says:

Yes. it went where many have gone before. Enterprise went in the garbage. Gene can not be replaced by people that don’t understand that trek is not about queers.

  14. RedPortiaOne says:

@Valiant153 Ya I would like to see Xon. He sounded like an interesting character :)

Anyone know where I can get a copy of that Runner Second Series with Zoan, Zon, or however it is spelled instead of Spoke Episode. Would love to watch it, even if it is a short Runner or peaced together.

Quite true about wanting to cash in on the sucess of Star Wars. But when Star Trek went crazy in sucess in syndication in the early 1970′s there were some heavy talks for about 5 years on bringing Trek back to Tv. They decided on a movie because of the Star Wars craze :)

  17. jmc32007 says:

Star Trek became a movie because of the success of Star Wars in ’77.Everyone knows that.It wasn’t because the script was so good for “In Thy Image” that Michael Eisner said We finally have a Star Trek movie. No,they wanted to cash in on the Star Wars craze and they rushed out an overblown premiere TV episode of a reworked”In Thy Image”by Alan Dean Foster.

    YES I DO!

  19. RedPortiaOne says:

Ya Tv is sort of a lost cause these days. Its not like the old days with great shows like Star Trek and the Incredible Hulk. I never will understand why they chose a stupid CGI Hulk over the great Lou Ferrigno. I met Lou in December 1979 when I was a kid and was just blown away by him. He is as awesome looking today as he was then, and to give him a bit part as a security guard was an insult, dont you think?

Thanks bud, I’ll give HULU a shot. Good luck with TV, I don’t think they’ll ever pick anything up again. But..we have seen miracles before. Ciao

  21. RedPortiaOne says:

Hi.Glad you liked the Trek Info. This stuff is mostly fan based and on a highly restricted budget. Thanks 4 the movie info. Tv needs to pick up Trek again man. I was searching for so long for full episodes on Star Trek Remastered on You Tube and no luck. So I went out and blew the $200 on the boxed set. Then I discovered a site called HULU and they have full Remastered episodes there, not to mention Enterprise and TNG. Check it out and let me know what you think my friend :)

howdy RedPortiaONe..I hear they are making a second movie to the 2006 Star Trek Movie. Hope it’s a better one than the first. Anyhow, thanks for all the information. I’ve been searching all over the web and found multiple episodes continuing from TOS to Kirk’s era (movies) but noticed alot of these Phase II just seem to stop after two or three episodes. Even this so called “Lexington” has gone no where. Sad, I would love to see the USS Lexington take flight.

  23. RedPortiaOne says:

PS don’t worry bro, with the new web series Star Trek Phase 2/New Voyages, Genes vision will never die. As long as there are Trekkers out there like you and I. I hope they bring the web series to Tv soon. It would be nice to have a new episode every week instead of every few months.

  24. RedPortiaOne says:

Chris Pine’s Star Trek is garbage and not Star Trek I agree. well it did take flight in 2006. It is a new continuing web series called Star Trek Phase 2/New Voyages and is an excellently produced continuation of TOS. I emailed you ALL the details. Let me know what you think my friend. Rick :)

  25. wolfstev76 says:

I never knew this exsisted. Now that I do, I am so disappointed this never took flight. Just knowing this could have been something unique in itself has blown me away. With the end of Star Trek Enterprise series. I knew this was Paramounts chance to end Gene’s dream. Do not tell me, “at least we have Star Trek with Chris Pine”. THAT! Is not Star Trek.
